CHNet in Pompeii: analysis of the House of the Ancient Hunt

Different Structures of the CHNet network contributed to the study that is taking place in the House of the Ancient Hunt in Pompeii; the analytical campaign is part of a wider project funded by CRT Foundation of Turin “Da Pompei a Venaria. Per un progetto di conoscenza, valorizzazione, divulgazione”. The diagnostic investigations have been possible thanks to an agreement signed by the University of Turin, the Conservation and Restoration Center – La Venaria Reale (CCR) and the Pompeii Archaeological Park; focus of the agreement is the restoration of some handcrafts and of the House, with the participation of CCR students. Between September and October INFN performed two missions aimed at the comprehension of the structure and the history of the domus, at the study of both ancient and modern restoration interventions and at the evaluation of the conservation state of the painted walls. The huge amount of data will be analysed in the next months, when the results will be presented.
