CHNet at the Salone dell’Arte e del Restauro in Florence

Conferences

In Florence the 6th edition of “Salone dell’Arte e del Restauro” (16-18 May) took place with many exhibitors and a rich program of events.
At the opening of the works, CHNet took part in a workshop supported by AIAr (Associazione Italiana Archeometria) titled “Archeometry and Cultural Heritage: multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary or antidisciplinary approach?” during which the figure of conservation scientist in Italy and Europe was discussed.
During the day organised by Opificio delle Pietre Dure focused on “history, technique and science for the restoration of Adorazione by Leonardo”, the results, obtained using the XRF scanning system developed by CHNet, were presented. The performed analyses supported the restorers to characterise the materials used in the unfinished masterpiece of Leonardo, helping them during the work.
